Frequently Asked Questions
How often is the database updated?
The database is updated on a monthly basis, typically at the end of the month. Quarterly sales figures are uploaded as they become available, normally within 24-48 hrs of publication, and news stories are added on a daily basis.
What companies do you cover?
EvaluatePharma® covers more than 900 Pharma and Biotech companies, including privately-held, Generic and Specialty firms.
What is your policy for increasing company coverage?
We add new companies on a monthly basis, and are currently working our way down the market in terms of Market Capitalisation. We have made exceptions to the Market Cap rule to include companies that have significant products in late stages of development.
What is the EvaluatePharma® consensus forecast?
EvaluatePharma® forecasts represent a consensus, or average, of equity analysts' estimates of sales data. Consensus forecasts illustrate the financial markets' expectations for the pharma and biotech industry, and are widely accepted as a 'best overview' method of forecasting industries and companies. The consensus methodology used by EvaluatePharma® is transparent and represents the best view of the industry at a given time.
What are the sources of EvaluatePharma®?
EvaluatePharma®'s experienced team of industry analysts continuously update company models from SEC filings, annual and quarterly reports, presentations to analysts and investors, company press releases, supplemented with information from additional sources, notably the FDA and US PTO websites as a source of patent information. Consensus forecasts for marketed and emerging products are compiled from the latest research reports from leading equity analysts.
Where do you get your sales data?
Historical sales data come from the companies themselves. Our sales figures are actual product sales as reported by the companies and therefore cover all the sales channels.
Can I trust the sales figures from companies?
Companies are under a statutory obligation to provide accurate data.
Can I send copies of my reports to colleagues, or extract data for use in a presentation?
Yes. Please note that normal copyright laws apply for any re-use of data from EvaluatePharma®.
